Overview
At ScamHub, we're very selective about the third-party tools we recommend. We understand how important trust is to our community, which is why you'll never see ads on our website, and why we're so careful when it comes to endorsing any outside services. With that said, we're excited to announce our partnership with Guardio (guard.io).
What Is Guardio?
Guardio acts as your personal online security guard, actively protecting you from falling victim to online scams. It blocks malicious websites, suspicious links, phishing emails, harmful text messages, and even dangerous browser extensions. Plus, all of Guardio’s premium plans come with 24/7 live chat support, allowing you to speak with a specialist whenever you need guidance on potentially unsafe situations. On top of that, Guardio offers identity monitoring and alerts you if your personal information has been compromised in a data breach.
Guardio Pricing
Guardio offers a free 7-day trial, after which a premium subscription costs $14.99 per month (at the time of this writing). While this may seem pricey, each premium account lets you invite four additional family members or friends. This means for about $15 a month, up to five people can benefit from the service, covering up to five devices per person, for a total of 25 devices.
Privacy
Privacy is a top concern for us, which is why we chose to partner with Guardio over other options. Guardio does not share or sell your personal data to third parties. We also thoroughly reviewed their browser extension and can confirm that it does not track your activity — it solely works to protect against threats. The same applies to their mobile app: nothing is collected from your device. In today’s world, finding a company that prioritizes your privacy like this is truly rare.
Transparency
Let's be transparent. None of the details we’re about to provide are hidden or designed to be confusing or misleading. We believe in presenting information up front, clearly and concisely. Everything we're about to share is also listed on Guardio’s website and can be easily found:
Free Trial Period: Guardio offers a 7-day trial with full access to all features. However, a credit card is required to sign up.
Credit Card Hold: When you begin the trial, Guardio places a temporary hold of $14.99 on your card. This practice is common in the U.S., but might be unfamiliar to international users. If you cancel before the trial ends, the hold is lifted and the funds are returned. In our experience, the refund took about 12 hours, but your timing may vary.
Email Scanning Limitations: Guardio’s ability to scan for malicious emails currently works only with Gmail. If you use another email provider, this feature won’t be available. However, the app will still block malicious links if you accidentally click one from any email platform.
Data Collection: While Guardio doesn’t sell or share your data with third parties, they do store some information that you voluntarily provide. This is used to check against data breaches and notify you if your data has been compromised.
